Ingredients
  

  • 4 basa fillets
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup shredded asiago cheese + extra for sprinkling
  • 2 tbsps butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ tsp dried basil
  • ¼ tsp lemon pepper
  • Pinch cayenne
  • Pinch turmeric
  • ½ tsp lemon zest
  • 2 tsps lemon juice
  • ¼ cup panko crumbs
  • 1 tsp light olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, minced garlic, shredded asiago, melted butter, dried basil, lemon pepper, cayenne, turmeric, lemon zest, and lemon juice until well combined.
  • Season basa fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Place fillets on a lightly greased baking dish or sheet. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the fillets.
  • Sprinkle panko crumbs and extra asiago cheese on top for a crispy crust.
  • Drizzle light olive oil over the fillets to help crisp the topping.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes until fish is cooked through and topping is golden and bubbly.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite sides.

Notes

  • Panko crumbs add a crunchy topping but can be omitted for a gluten-free option.
  • Adjust cayenne to control heat level.
